A couple of years ago I decided to not move my weblog to the new server. I had been dragging it around from 2001, it had served it’s purpose. The wayback machine has a couple of snapshots what began on a dot-com domain. We individuals could not buy a dot-nl name in those days. I ended it and never looked back.
The last couple of months however I started missing the website. For several reasons. First of all to have a personal spot on the web that is not intermingled with others people stuff. Also a place you can point to where you put the files/writings/pictures. And I missed a place to write. A place to clear your thought, to find words for ideas.
And lastly, the nerd in me missed the messing around, breaking things trying out new things, redesign your site.
So, when you read this, I took the step and restarted xiffy.nl as my personal space. What and how will I will figure out along the way. For the moment I will be writing in Obsidian and will find a tool to convert those markdown files to a nice website.
